Today's Panchang for your city

Panchang means "five limbs": Tithi (lunar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (the Moon's star), Yoga (Sun–Moon combination) and Karana (half-tithi). All five are reckoned at local sunrise, which is why Panchang differs from city to city.

This Panchang is calculated for your chosen place from astronomical sunrise and the actual positions of the Sun and Moon, with the end times of the Tithi and Nakshatra.

It also shows the inauspicious windows (Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda, Gulika Kaal) and the Abhijit muhurat, a festival calendar for the year, and a muhurat finder for marriage, griha pravesh, travel, business, vehicle purchase, education and naming.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Rahu Kaal differ by city?

Rahu Kaal is one-eighth of the daytime between sunrise and sunset, so it depends on the day length at your location.

Which Tithi applies if it changes during the day?

Udaya tithi, the one prevailing at sunrise, is used for the day, which is the convention followed by most printed Panchangs; festival rules that use sunset or midnight are applied where tradition requires.

Is this Panchang Amanta or Purnimanta?

Lunar months are Amanta (ending on the new moon), with Purnimanta names shown for North Indian festivals in the Krishna paksha.
