Mangal Dosha calculator
Mangal (Kuja) dosha is said to exist when Mars occupies the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house. Traditional practice checks this from the Ascendant, the Moon and Venus, and then applies many cancellations: Mars in its own or exaltation sign, Mars with Jupiter or the Moon, specific sign placements, and matching a Manglik with a Manglik.
Most charts show Mars in one of these houses from at least one reference point, so a blanket "you are Manglik" label is nearly meaningless. This calculator shows the degree (from Lagna only, from Moon only, or both) and lists every mitigating condition that applies to you.

By the basic rule, yes, but check the cancellations: Mars in Cancer or Capricorn in the 7th, Mars with Jupiter, or Mars in its own sign are traditionally held to neutralise it.
